Our Story
Established 15 years ago, Metropolitan Medical began as a small occupational health clinic to provide quality healthcare services to the government workforce. Over the years, we have grown in size and reputation thanks to our unwavering commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
Under that same leadership, we continue to expand our horizons and work to serve the government with all their healthcare needs.
Our Vision
As a former employee of a contractor assigned to government agencies, I experienced first hand the quality of care that was being provided. I noticed significant issues in the way people were cared for. The standard was nowhere near where it should be. As an organization, Metropolitan Medicals vision is to change this. We want to provide federal employees with excellent care, educate them and empower them to adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Our primary goal is to maximize every aspect of employees health. Whether it be staffing or operating an on site health clinic, we deliver the best.
Our Philosophy
In medical care there are three steps to preventative care, primary, secondary and tertiary. Primary is the prevention of the disease process by promoting health through lifestyle choices. This is achieved by exercising, proper dietary choices, and the appropriate preventive medical care such as vaccines and routine examinations. The next step in the algorithm is secondary care of screening for diseases. These screenings are done at the regularly scheduled intervals such as the annual examination, or when there is a suspected issue like high blood pressure. The purpose of this screening is to determine if disease/pathology is present. The final step in the algorithm is tertiary care, the treatment of any disease process that has been diagnosed during either of the first two phases above. The treatment prescribed may include a referral to a specialist, a prescription, or other medical regimen, and will always include a follow up, but may also require permanent ongoing monitoringPlease let us know if you have any questions.
